PROCESSING

Culte du Cuir products are made to order; here's what that means for you!

Cost Reduction - Unsold items are costly for businesses (and so for customers); using a made to order process allows me to both provide more personalized, bespoke pieces, made to your specifications; it also reduces waste and the cost associated with it.

Reduction of Environmental Impact - When you make a purchase from Culte du Cuir, you can rest assured you're supporting a sustainability focused, environmentally conscious business.  The made to order process helps me provide you with superb products without causing unnecessary harm to the environment.

Around 85% of all textiles produced by the fashion industry end up in landfills, making it a major contributor to environmental damage - in fact, one in every five items produced by the fashion industry reaches landfills without being worn even once! Culte du Cuir only puts an item into production when an order is made, avoiding textile waste from overproduction.

Production Time - Each product is handcrafted by me - I base my production time on current order volumes and update them as needed. You can find the current production time estimate on the home page and product page banner - simpler/smaller pieces normally fall on the shorter side of the estimate, however if order volumes are high, it may be a few days before I'm able to start on your piece.

I do my best to get orders produced and out to you as quickly as possible, while producing items in the order that they were received and giving it the attention to detail it deserves - it's then shipped direct to you from the U.S.; shipping estimates and additional information can be found in the next section.

SHIPPING

What you can expect:
Shipping Estimates

Shipping Estimates - Belts and bags are shipped via USPS Priority mail, which takes 2-3 business days. I ship most items within 24 hours of completing them - I ship primarily Monday-Friday (although I work on production 7 days a week).

Jewelry pieces are shipped via USPS First Class mail and may take a few more days to arrive. If you need something sooner, I can ship priority mail - this is typically a $5 surcharge. Just reach out to me if you need a jewelry piece expedited!

My website is set up only for US orders at this time, however, I do ship internationally. Please see the 'International Orders' page for additional information as well as shipping quotes and a simple order form. If you have any questions on international orders that aren't answered on that page - don't hesitate to reach out to me; you'll receive a prompt and thorough response!

RETURN POLICY

Ensuring products meet or exceed your expectations

As each piece is made-to-order, returns are not accepted unless an item arrives damaged or incorrect. If an item has a defect, a replacement will be produced and sent out quickly.

However, my service is not complete once a piece has been shipped. As a small artisan, I don't consider an order fulfilled until you receive your item and are thrilled with your purchase.  If you're unhappy, for any reason, please reach out to me; I would be sincerely grateful for the opportunity to address and correct any issues or concerns you have, and I can guarantee a resolution.

Resizing & Repairs

Lifetime Service and Commitment

One of the qualities that sets this atelier apart is customization; making each piece according to your unique measurements and preferences and providing the perfect fit. If any adjustments are needed to achieve that, I provide complimentary adjustments to my work - whether you decide you'd like your corset belt to be a little shorter, or if your weight changes and adjustments are needed to keep your piece in rotation. My pieces are made to last, allowing you to enjoy them for the long term, but our bodies are often changing. While I cannot make a corset belt taller after it's been produced (so if you're uncertain, it's best to err on the side of too tall), there are many ways that I can adjust your piece so that you can continue to wear and enjoy it - please reach out to me if at any time you would like an adjustment; depending on the design of the specific piece, we can go over the options available, and I will make any possible changes to keep your item fitting and looking it's best.

Likewise, if at any point your piece is ever damaged and in need of repair; I would be happy to help. As with adjustments, please reach out to me to discuss the options available.
