Corset Belt sizing
The shop's corset belts are extremely forgiving when it comes to fit! The most important part is your natural waist measurement (your natural waist is the slimmest point on your torso).

For those who are quite tall or quite short - you may also want to adjust the height of the belt to achieve the same look on your figure. The standard belt height is 9" at the center of the belt, which is suitable for most people of average height. This is adjustable at no additional cost - the best way to determine if an adjustment is needed is to measure from the center of your natural waist (usually an inch or two above your navel) up to at or just above the height of your nipples.

Measurement
Guide
The first step in getting the perfect, custom fit is getting accurate body measurements. This guide will walk you through all of the body measurements - however, you'll only need the specific ones requested for the particular piece you're interested in. Belts, for example, only require your natural waist measurement - while depending on the style of harness, I may need additional measurements to ensure the perfect fit. This guide is meant to make the process easier and eliminate confusion - but if you still have any questions about measurements, I'm here to help! Just send your questions or concerns to hello@culteducuir.com (or use the contact form in the top menu).

Tips for Measuring
You can use items around the house to take measurements (a length of string and a ruler will do the trick) - but tailor's tape (pictured above) is the easiest and most accurate method.

You can find tailor's tape on Amazon very inexpensively, I also offer complimentary tailor's tape to assist you with measuring - there are two options to receive complimentary tape:
1) Make your purchase and in the space provided for your measurements, simply write in 'tailor's tape' - I will hold production on your piece and mail you tape for free; once you've taken the needed measurements, you can send me a note and I'll produce your piece to your specifications.
2) If you'd like the tape prior to ordering your piece, you can find a listing for the tape on the 'add-on accessories' page located in the 'Shop' tab. You'll need to pay $5 (shipping is free) to order the tape, but included with it will be a coupon code for $5 off your order to reimburse you for the cost.

Additional tips for taking measurements accurately:
Try to keep the tape as parallel to the floor as possible when measuring your body - it doesn't need to be perfect, but you don't want the tape to be much higher or lower on the front or back of your body to get an accurate measurement.

Relax your body and breath normally when taking measurements - if you hold your breath or suck in - your finished piece may only be comfortable when you're doing the same; and that's way too much work!

The tape should be snug against your body when you take your measurements, but you don't want it to be tight or 'cutting in' at all - your measurements won't be accurate and your piece may end up too tight.

Don't stress! My pieces are adjustable - I make each one to your measurements, but add a little wiggle room in both directions - so if you gain or lose a little weight, have a bloated day, or wear your piece over a thicker layer, you should not have any problems!

I'm also happy to make any piece within a larger 'range' - just let me know what you'd like the measurement range to be. This may require me to make your piece with longer straps where it adjusts to accommodate the adjustability; if strap loops aren't pictured on the piece you'd like, you can always request they be added in this case to keep the extra strap in place - I do this for no added cost.
